Watch out for My New Book: How to Find, Communicate and Live your Purpose
Legend Storytelling: a 30-day journey
I’m feeling super, super stoked. Multiple times over the past few days and weeks I’ve had strange synchronicities, speaking to people and getting goosebumps myself or them telling me they’re getting goosebumps.
I feel it in my belly that I’m on to something. Something great.
Seriously. Not to sound too flaky or super-woke-spiritual, but it really deeply feels like I’m on the right path. It’s got to do with Purpose. And it’s no coincidence or luck: there’s a method to my current madness.
How so? Check it:
I’ve just finished writing my new book: “Legend Storytelling: How to Find, Communicate and Live your Purpose”. It’s being proofread by a few very smart people as we speak. I’m also starting a trial with a small group of people who will be helping me evaluate and improve the 30-day Storytelling journey included in the book.
I thought it would be nice to let you know how this book is going to be able to help you, if you’re looking to find your Purpose. Whether you’re coming at this as a growth-minded individual human, as an entrepreneur, or someone at the helm of a corporate brand.
My previous, award-winning book was titled: “Is there Life Beyond the Touch Screen?” I view the current book as my answer to that.
“Yes, there can be. If you start with Purpose.”
What you can expect from “Legend Storytelling: How to Find, Communicate and Live your Purpose”
This will not be just some book. This will be a book and a 30-day Purpose-driven storytelling program. It’s a workbook, a self-authoring and personal development X branding book.
My new book and the program within it will help you get a clearer vision of the best version of yourself, your work, and your life — as decided by you. And how to go about embodying and living that day-by-day. Regardless the circumstances.
And regardless if you’re coming at this as an individual human, a person in a relationship or part of a team; as a leader in an organization or owner of a brand.
What you can expect to get from this book about Purpose
You will find a healthy, positive balance between striving for growth on the one hand, and acceptance, gratitude and happiness for what already is and what you already are — on the other hand. Paradoxical as it may seem, the two actually go hand in hand and mutually reinforce each other.
If that’s not what you’re looking for, ask for your time and/or money back, now. You’ve been reading this article for a good three minutes, now. You could have been Netflixing.
You will find a useful, practical and strategic balance between doing, thinking, and communicating. And Netflixing.
What we’re going to be doing in this book is learning about ourselves, then writing a story about ourselves; past, present and future — and we will call this story our Legend. This Legend Story will have embedded in it a Purpose, a Vehicle and Habits as we see these for our best selves. And it will have a measure of progress built in, so we can track our paces over time.
We will see how we can make that story about our best self; our Legend, come alive — by embedding it into how we manage our time, how we build habits, communicate and manage relationships, learn and create value, care for ourselves and use technology to our advantage.
In other — and fewer — words, you’ll learn: “How to find, communicate and live your Purpose.”
What is this book based on?
The short answer to that is: the book is based on a sh*t ton of research, my life experience, my studies in psychology and my experience as a marketing professional specializing in purpose-driven Brand Storytelling.
A slightly longer answer is that I’ve combined all of the insights from basics in developmental psychology, the psychology of human happiness, self-esteem, identity, productivity and flow, with insights in brand and storytelling psychology.
And I’ve put them together in a Purpose-based Storytelling framework that I’ve been forming in my mind for about three years now, which was based in a series of interviews with technology visionaries I did back in 2016–17.
That framework is called “Legend Storytelling” and the model Purpose Alignment or “Legend PACES”, where PACES stands for Purpose Aligned Continuous Evolution through Storytelling.
I draw inspiration and knowledge from Judeo-Christian tradition, Stoicism, Daoism, Buddhism and Hinduism, marketing literature (Olins, Sinek), Psychology literature and philosophy (Czikszentmihalyi, Kotler, Jung, Peterson, Kant, Manson), management literature (Drucker among others), fiction (mainly Paulo Coelho), art, and of course, stories from remarkable people I’ve met throughout the years.
Who will this book be for?
If you’re an entrepreneur, this book will help you get a clearer vision of what you and your work can mean for the world and how to communicate that effectively and consistently, while embodying it.
If you work as an employee, and you want to move ahead in your career — this book will help you paint the picture of where you need to go and how to get there.
If you want to be a better husband, mother, rapper, pottery baker, knitter or speaker of French, this book will help you get there as well. And then some.
If you’re reading this as a leader in marketing, branding, HR or recruitment — this book will help you get the identity, brand story and culture of your company much clearer. You can equate ‘Legend’ with Purpose-driven Brand Story, for these purposes.
This book will also help you make that brand story or identity of your organization come to life through alignment with the purpose or life mission of the people connected to your brand. Employees or partners and customers or clients.
